Even a cursory perusal of the names of the pioneers buried in the Lawnton Cemetery will show the contribution made by German immigrants to the early years of the (former) Pine Shire. Many long-term residents, and those who have shifted here more recently, have German ancestors.
On 22 October 2013, Noel and Del Bergman provided the group with a comprehensive overview of techniques for Tracing Your German Ancestors illustrated by case studies drawn from his family tree. On 24 June 2014, they returned to introduce us to some more advanced techniques and additional sources. These pages strive to capture some of the richness that Noel presented in a form that will allow members to revisit the topic so as to obtain the maximum benefit. The menu at left should help you to navigate your way through the pages. On each of the pages listed you will find an image of the Imperial German Eagle. Click on it to return to this page. |
