Many cemeteries in Queensland are now controlled (or managed) by local government. Some Regional Councils have databases of historical interments searchable on line. Use these search facilities to look for your ancestor's grave in a particular location. Heaven Address is a service offered by a number of privately-owned cemeteries and crematoria across several states. Rookwood Cemetery (in Sydney) is by far the largest in Australia. Waverley Cemetery (Sydney) overlooks the ocean on South Head. The State Library of South Australia publishes a guide to the cemeteries in that state. The State Library of Victoria has a similar page. The records of the Western Australia Metro Cemeteries Board can be searched online. Gravesites of Tasmania aims to bring together as many sources relevant to that state as possible.
