Although you can search on several fields (or by keyword across all fields), a search for all the records relating to a particular place where your ancestor lived or worked is a very useful technique.
Family Search uses "standard" place names to ensure that you locate the correct place. Begin to type a placename slowly and watch as the program suggests possible completions. Select the correct one. |
You will be presented with a list of all the records linked to that location organised into categories. Click the triangle at the begiining of any line to open up the categories to see the records it contains.
