Tracing Scots ancestors
|
In 1861 Scottish-born Queenslanders made up 8% of the population, and at Federation the level was still 4%. In 2011, 8.9% of all Australians claimed some level of Scottish ancestry.
The menu on the left of this page links to information on different aspects of the task of tracing your Scots ancestors. When you visit any of these pages, a click on the saltire (the flag of Scotland) will bring you back here. Much of the information presented here was drawn from the presentation Scotland the Brave given by Noel and Del Bergman on November 25 2014. We thank Noel and Del for their permission to use it. You can visit their personal website for more information on their ancestral families. |
