The particular issue was that Reinier Bastiaens (born 1910) who had been raised by an uncle after his parents' deaths was mistakenly listed as the biological child of Martinus instead of that of his brother Jacobus (which is an understandable error for a descendant of Martinus to have made).
Apart from making this change, we needed to identify the justification and for that we searched the "other side" of Family Search where the world-wide collection of records has been indexed. A search focussed on vital records from the Netherlands easily located the birth record of Reinier which clearly identified his biological parents (and even provided a link to an image of the record on another site). |
